2021 marks the 20th anniversary of the Sandra Schmirler Foundation. As
part of the celebration of this milestone Dynasty Curling has created a
20th anniversary Sandra Schmirler Foundation jersey and jacket. Proceeds
from the sales of these items will be donated to the Sandra Schmirler
Foundation to help with their vision to ensure that every baby has the
chance to grow up and be a champion, like Sandra.
About the Sandra Schmirler Foundation
Sandra Schmirler was a Canadian curler who captured three Canadian Curling
Championships and three World Curling Championships. She skipped her
Canadian team to a gold medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics the first year
women¹s curling was a medal sport. A mother of two, Sandra sadly passed
away in 2000 at the age of 36 leaving a legacy that had a much farther
reach than curling.
The Sandra Schmirler Foundation sees a future where every hospital NICU
has the necessary life-saving equipment to handle any emergency and save
the lives of babies born premature and critically ill. Our dream is that
all babies born too soon, too small or too sick will be cared for in a
NICU equipped with state of the art life-saving equipment close to their
homes, family and friends. With support from individuals like you, we have
given over $5 million to fund life-saving equipment in NICUs in hospitals
across Canada.
